A mindful alternative for PTSD treatment

by Hon Lee on March 4, 2013

According to an article in the 19 Feb 2013 Health & Science section of the Washington Post, meditation may help relieve post-traumatic stress in returning troops. One study looked at 320 Marines preparing to go to Afganistan undergoing realistic live-action scenarios. Some of the Marines were given mindfulness training. Researchers found this group was not only calmer during and after training, but also “responded faster when a threat appeared.”
