Hon K. Lee, L.Ac, Dipl.OM

Hon K. Lee, L.Ac, Dipl.OM, DMQ, is a Board Certified and Licensed Acupuncturist in Herndon, VA.

Hon K. Lee is a Licensed Acupuncturist, a nationally certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, and a Doctor of Medical Qigong. He graduated from the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, had clinical training at the Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, completed postgraduate studies in Chinese herbal medicine at the TAI Sophia Institute, and studied Medical Qigong at the International College of Medical Qigong.

Owner of the Sports Edge Acupuncture Clinic, Hon treats patients using acupuncture, Chinese herbs, nutritional counseling, tuina, and qigong therapy. He is a Spring Forest Qigong Certified Instructor and Qigong Master. Hon is also an adjunct professor at the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine, and is a member of the American Association of Asian and Oriental Medicine, the Acupuncture Society of Virginia, the Maryland Acupuncture Society, and Acupuncturists without Borders.

Hon is co-founder and former Director of the Jow Ga Shaolin Institute, which offers classes in kung fu, taijiquan and qigong. He co-authored “Yang Style Tai Ji Quan: A Beginner’s Guide." His memoir "Paths Less Travelled of a Scholar Warrior (Spy) Teacher Healer," describes how he developed a passion for Chinese medicine and why his mission in life is to help others.

One of Hon's areas of specialization is women's health, and the treatment of infertility. He is an acupuncturist for the Virginia Center for Reproductive Medicine, and a volunteer medical provider at the Loudoun Free Clinic. Hon is a U.S. Marine combat veteran, and donates 10 percent or more of the clinic's net profits as well as all proceeds from the sale of his memoir to charities that benefit veterans who suffer from the wounds of war. He is a provider for the Milittary Stress Recovery Project (offering free auricular acupuncture treatments for U.S. veterans injured physically or emotionally during combat) and the Veterans Administration funded Veterans Choice Program.

Kiyoshi Yamamoto is a NCBTMB and Virginia Nursing Board Certified Massage Therapist. He believes the key to overall health comes from balancing body, mind and sprit. He focuses on both the clinical and holistic aspects of the healing art of massage, using a combination of western and eastern therapeutic techniques.

Kiyoshi is expert in a wide variety of massage disciplines, and teaches massage at a local massage school. He offers clients Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Therapy, Clinical Massage, Sports Massage, Tuina, Shiatsu, Anma, and Thai Massage. Kiyoshi does energy work as a Reiki and Qigong practitioner. Besides providing clients with massage therapy at our Sports Edge Acupuncture clinic, Kiyoshi has a portable massage table and is willing to travel to client’s homes.

Kiyoshi is also a Chinese martial arts instructor at the Jow Ga Shaolin Institute. In 2003, he began training in both Jow Ga Kung Fu and Shaolin Mizong, as well as Yang Style Tai Chi. He currently helps organize martial arts, Lion & Dragon Dance events performed by the Institute throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Yu Yu is an NCCAOM nationally certified and Virginia Medical Board Licensed Acupuncturist. He was a Guest Lecturer, Five Branches Institute – College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Santa Cruz CA.

Yu Yu is a disciple of renowned TCM Dr. Zhiqing Cheng, chairman of Cardiology Rehabilitation Committee, Zhejiang China. He earned a Master of Clinical Medicine, China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and a Bachelor of Medicine, Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

His professional experience includes: Research Assistant for Sports Medicine studies Department of Exercise Sciences, University of Iowa, 1999 – 2001; Research on treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, Orthopedics Department and Biomedical Department Research on brain motor control, MRI Department Led biomechanics and human anatomy labs; Resident at Hospital of Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology, China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), 1997–1999; Internship at Hangzhou TCM hospital 1995–1996
