Feeling angry? Pick up a shovel!

Spread MulchNo, don't hit anyone a garden tool. Instead, spread some mulch, or plant some flowers.  Why?  Because outdoor exercise can relieve stress, improve sleep, and burn calories.  According to Marianne Gonzalez, PhD, a researcher in Norway, outdoor chores are good for mental and emotional health. A recent study of adults diagnosed with clinical depression who spent six hours a week gardening reported "significant decline in depression and improved attention span after 12 weeks."  So with autumn weather on the way, you can look forward to happy times raking leaves!
