Think twice before you swallow another painkiller!

According to Dr. Ungprasert, an instructor at the Mayo Clnic’s rheumatology department, painkillers may be linked to blood clots.

A meta-analysis of six studies (involving 2100 cases) of venous thromboembolism – a type of clot that includes deep vein thrombosis (clots in the legs) and pulmonary embolism (clots in the lungs) – showed that people who took naproxen (Alleve), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and other NSAIDS compared with non-users had an 80% higher risk for clots.
