Scoliosis? Try side planks.

Spine osteoporosis. Spinal cord problems on woman's backA new study showed patients with scoliosis were able to reduce their C-shaped spinal curvature doing side planks.

According to Loren Fisman, MD, assistant clinical professor, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, the study required patients to hold a side plank for about 90 seconds six days a week on the weaker side of their spines.

After six months, their spinal curvature was reduced by an average of 32 percent in people with an average age of 55.  Of course, you don’t have to have scoliosis to benefit from doing side planks. They’re a simple exercise to develop core strength.Side plank lift
